The Pinhoti Trail is 337-mile hiking trail connecting Flagg Mountain in Alabama to the Benton MacKaye Trail in Georgia. The Alabama section of trail in Talladega National Forest has been designated a National Recreation Trail. The Pinhoti Trail is part of the Eastern Continental Trail and the Great Eastern Trail, which also starts at Flagg Mountain. Some hikers who intend to hike the Appalachian Trail, start on the Pinhoti Trail connecting to the Benton MacKaye Trail to reach the Springer Mountain Trail head for the AT.
