The Heyduke Trail (HDT) is an 812-mile long trail that travels across the Colorado Plateau in southern Utah and northern Arizona. The HDT passes through Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, and six National Parks including Arches NP, Canyonland NP, Capitol Reef NP, Grand Canyon NP, Bryce Canyon NP, and finally Zion NP. The HDT is considered to be extremely challenging for the terrain it travels through. The best seasons to hike the HDT are the Spring and Fall.
