The Florida Trail runs from the edge of the Everglades all the way up to Pensacola Beach. The Southern terminus can be found on Loop Road, accessible from Tamiami Trail (US 41) 52 miles west of Miami. The Northern terminus is located in Gulf Islands National Seashore south of Pensacola. Depending on the route taken by hikers, the shortest route is 1089 miles while the longest is 1136 miles. There are a total of 1501 miles to the FT, including spurs. The Florida Trail is certified as a National Scenic Trail and is managed by the US Forest Service.
