The northern terminus is on Lake Erie in Headlands Beach State Park just east of Cleveland. The southern terminus branch ends at Eden Park in Cincinnati. The trail travels through several state parks and Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The North Country Trail coincides with the northern part of the Buckeye Trail, while the American Discovery Trail shares the trail in southern Ohio.
