The Bay Circuit Trail and Greenway (BCT) is a recreational trail in Massachusetts that encompasses the outlying suburbs of Boston. The 230-mile trail is overseen by the Bay Circuit Trail Alliance, which has been led by the Appalachian Mountain Club since 2012. Many parts of BCT are for open multi-purposes, such as hiking, trail running, bicycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, The BCT has a few optional routes and spurs, some leading to new proposed trail segments. Due to the location of the trail in the communities, camping maybe limited or forbidden in certain segments. Hikers should check for local camping options in their planning.
