The American Discovery Trail is a 6,800 mile coast-to-coast trail that passes through 15 states. The ADT starts at Cape Henlopen State Park in Delaware on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of Delaware Bay. The trail travels west through Maryland, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California, where the western terminus can be found at Point Reyes National Seashore. The ADT has both Northern and Southern routes that meet in Elizabethtown, OH and again in Denver, CO. The Northern route is 4,834 miles long while the Southern route is 5,057 miles.
